One Thousand Follower- Geeeeee Wizz!

Aloha Bloggerinos!

Today I have been temping (what I wouldn't give to win the lottery and not have to work) at the most boring job I have ever done. Let me give you a run down of the day:

Nearly die on the country road to the middle of nowhere when a combine harvester ignores basic things like LANES and MY CAR, arrive at middle of nowhere office, enter to a woman who wasn't expecting a temp (good start), sit at desk facing wall, fold letter, gather leaflets, stuff envelope, stamp. Fold letter, gather leaflets, stuff envelope, stamp. Over and over and ovvveerrr again, until I thought I might rip all my clothes off and do a jig in the table just for a bit of entertainment!!

Thankfully 5 o'clock came and Matt and I went to the Toby Cavery to drown our sorrows in roasted veg. Yeah baby.

Anyhoo, I can home and a few nice things had happened! 1, The cat had not left me any 'surprises'. 2, I have been invited to a blogger event on Thursday in London (is anyone else going??). 3. I HAVE REACHED 1000 FOLLOWERS!!!!!

Thank you to every single little follower out there who clicked that magical little button, you have made my day!

To 'give something back' (and because I have abused weheartit.com a bit too much of late) I am giving you a treat. I say 'treat' but what I really mean is a picture of me pretending to be a badger (as you do) at my last job in Liverpool. I don't know why, but I was really obsessed with badgers at the time. I even made a song. And a dance. Oh god.......Oh look, the men in white coats are here now!

1000 follower competition coming soon when I earn some pennies to splash- woop woop!

Follower Fun

Aloha Bloggerinos,

Are you sitting comfortably? Then let's begin.

Yesterday I went for a mini job interview at a recruitment agency in the hope that they will find me a cushy office job to keep me busy til Christmas/New Year. After all that hard work trying to be professional and not saying something mental like "Sausage SURPRISE!", I thought I ought to treat myself.

Can I work here please? (image: weheartit.com)

I wandered to Lush with the long-shot prayer that Snow Fairy had been released (sadly not) and then tootled to Superdrug. I was in my own little world, musing over the pros and cons of the new Sleek double ended brush (twice as much brush for your money, tricky to store in your pot) when I heard a voice.

A lady had come up to me and said "Mrs Watson?". I thought "Oh what have a done wrong?", but it turned out to be a follower who recognised me! Coolest thing ever? Err Yes! We had a little chat about blogs and makeup and off she went to treat herself to some blue mascara- how's it working out for you?

You know I can't stand a naked post, so the pic today is the lady in question, hope she doesn't mind my photo thievery! (sorry it's a bit blurry)

The lady who said hello is Zoe and she actually has her own blog, mostly about homes and interiors and what not, I enjoy blogs like that muchly. Take a look HERE.

Zoe follows some fun interior type blogs too, so do check those out if like me, you're a home bird.

If ever you see me, puurrlleeaasee say 'hello' because I would love to meet you and get really rather giddy with joy!

Sparkle, Twinkle, GLITTEEERRRR!!!

Aloha Bloggerinos,

I'm just sitting watching TV/watching Matt as he paints our lounge and I decided I would treat myself to a little bit of eye porn. No, no, not filthy naughty videos (jeez, minds out the gutter please) but typing "Glitter" into weheartit.com and seeing what comes up.

They were so gorgeous that I felt the need to share them with you. If pictures of sparkly things light your fire as much as they do mine, then brace yourself!!

I NEED this nail varnish for the Autumn/Winter season or I shall die. 25 brownie points to the gal who knows the name of it!

Throwing glitter. Why is this not a validated sport??

To this day I regret not buying that pot of Purple Glitter Pigment that MAC bought out last year. Gargh!!

I had a glitter lamp at Uni and LOVED it. It was sadly lost in the 36 million moves I had as a studenty type but I feel I must buy one. How cute would it look as a night light in the baby's room. I intend on getting my baby hooked on glitter from an early age. Even if it's a boy. Uh oh.

Loved the jewel toned colours in this so much that I made it my YouTube channel background. Mmmmmm.

Did you enjoy that as much as I did? Good old weheartit, I really do heart it :)

Lou's Reviews :: Topshop Lipstick and Glitter

Aloha Bloggerinos,

Another 'Lou's Reviews' for you, you lucky duckies! A couple of weeks ago Matt and I were in Birmingham at the Bullring and I got a little bit over excited in Topshop. I was hoping to find some nice maternity outfits in there but alas, none of it was my style really.

I have obviously read a tonne of reviews on the Topshop cosmetics range and must say, it never really seemed to float my boat too much. That day for some reason though, I thought "Well let's see what all the hype is about" and picked up two items. I would have bought some pretty feathery eyelashes too if all the boxes hadn't been so battered and rubbish (I hate cruddy packaging. Bleaugh.)

I bought a Lipstick Pencil in 'Vintage' for £7 and and a pot of Glitter in 'Gilt' for £6. Please do excuse the poopy lighting of my snaps today, it was really rainy but the lamp looked weird blah blah blah.

Here we have the gliiittttteerrrrr. It reminded me of a MAC Glitter pot I bought about a year ago from one of their limited edition collections, there was also a cadbury purple one which I sorely regret not buying. 25 brownie points for the Bloggerino who can name the LE collection!

I liked the colour of this glitter and it seems fairly well milled. Not at fine as MAC but for half the price I shan't complain. I plan on using this lots and lots over the Autumn/Winter season on my nails, mixed with moisturiser on my arms (I'm a sucker for sparkle) and on my eyelids. I thought about adding some to lipglosses but the jury is still out on that one.

So far, so good on the Gilt Glitter. Well done Topshop, bring out more colours asap!

The second item on the agenda is the chubby lipstick pencil in 'Vintage'. In the shop light I thought this was a lovely bright candy pink, but when I took it home, it seemed to be more of a frosty pale pink. Gutted.

I can't say I'm overly enamoured with the packaging of this, black with gold writing, in my opinion, would have looked swanky. I like the end of the pencil is a close match to the nib, love a bit of help when it's all muddled in my lipstick box.

I do enjoy the chubby nib, makes a change from the usual bullet shape and they say 'change is as good as a holiday', don't they?
Pop your shades on for that brriigghhtt shot! Yowzas! Nibby nib nib. Chunky chunk.

This lipstick has great pigment and lasting power is reasonable but I felt that I needed an overdose of lipbalm afterwards to combat the drying effect.

Overall- Meh.

Does anyone have a mad love for these lipsticks? I can't get to grips with it at all!

Lou's Reviews - Lush The Comforter Bubble Bar

Aloha Bloggerinos,

Thank you for all your psychic energy, I found my charger.......in a suitcase. Smooth move Louise, smooooth move!

Anyway, this allowed me to get snapping all the delights of my Lush gift set and I shall review them as I use them.

The gift box came beautifully packaged and with a great big pink bow, which is always a winner in my eyes. It contains eleven classic products, all kind of from the same 'scent family' if that makes any sense to you.

I cannae wait to try all of these but shan't rush, you must savour such treasure!

The first product that I sampled the joys of was The Comforter Bubble Bar. Individually this retails for £3.95 which seems pretty steep but you do get 200g of product, twice as much as the average bubble bar dontchya know!

The Comforter Bubble Bar claims to wrap you in purple waters and blackcurranty goodness like a real 'comforter' or scarf. I used this on a night when my morning sickness (which comes in the evenings) was really bad and I was just feeling really down about the whole thing. I ran a medium-hot bath (can you have hot baths when you have a bun dans le oven? I wasn't sure and google wasn't to hand) and broke off a reasonable sized chunk.

I was really pleased with the water colour, more cerise than purple and it created a good amount of bubbles, more than my top ranking bubble bar, Flosty Gritter. The smell was really enjoyable and not over powering. I was a bit apprehensive about the smell because I associate blackcurrants with Ribena, which I despise, but thankfully, there wasn't a whiff of Ribena to be..whiffed. Eloquent.

I stayed in the bath for a nice long while and the bubbles didn't fizzle away. I can't say I felt any particular difference in my skin condition afterwards but I did feel comforted and relaxed and that's all I needed that night.

Have you tried this product? What did you think?

Losty lost lost!

Aloha Bloggerinos,

I'm back in my stride and have made 3 YouTube videos today and am feeling a bit more optimistic about life. Hurrah!

As one of my gorgeous wedding presents, my bestest chum Ceri gave us (well, mainly me!) a great big Lush Think Pink hatbox gift set. Well, I want to take a tonne of snaps and blog about it but can I find my camera charger? No, I cannot!

(Shoddy picture stolen from google images)

This isn't the first time I have lost it, so once again I am asking you to channel your psychic energies and tell me where you think it is! I really must find a designated place for keeping it! Grr!

Happy Psychic Hunting!

Can you hear the pitter patter of tiny feet? I can!

Aloha Bloggerinos,

Let me just congratulate you on your long enduring patience whilst I spent weeks hinting at a special secret. A lot of you guessed (naughty little things!) and some of you emailed me with your ideas and some of you guessed on my youtube profile.

Well the wait is over. That's right Bloggerinos, I'm pregnant! YYaaaahhhhhoooooooooooooo!

I'm now past the 3 month mark and looking forward to feeling a bit better because for me, pregnancy has been ROUGH. I do not feel glowing or blooming or doing what nature intended at all. I feel sick and tired and grumpy and headachey, hence the lack of posts lately (I really am sorry about that).

But here I am, married and pregnant and very happy indeed. I'm one of those girls that has ALWAYS wanted children and a family. I played with dollies and cooed over babies and when I was 14 was making about £100 a week babysitting in my local area (ahhh to be a minted 14 year old again!) because I just loved kiddlywinks. I even feel broody in IKEA at the cribs and baby stuff! So as you can imagine, now I'm having my own, I'm over ze moon and ze stars!

I shan't go on too much and I'll get on with showing you the 12 week scan picture but if any of you lovely mothers/careers etc out there have tips on surviving pregnancy, do let me know!

So without further adooo, here is the little one, all tucked up in his womby nest :)

Place your bets now- boy or girl?

The Wedding Day Story

Aloha Bloggerinos,

Little disclaimer - None of the photos match the story order! I just pulled a few off facebook because I couldn't bare the wait for my official ones which are coming next week and I hate non-photo posts. So voila- bit of confusion for you! x

What a day! Everyone says the old "it'll be the happiest day of your life" and now I know why. For one special day you get to feel like a celebrity, be disgustingly loved up, are constantly complimented and congratulated AND you start the first day of your happy-ever-after. If only all days could be like that!

For me the day started at 5am! I woke up (after only managing to fall asleep at 1am) and quickly realised there was no way I was going to fall back to sleep. Thankfully, my Bridesmaid Charly, who I was sharing a room at Dad's with, was also awake so we nattered away until about 6.30am and got up and showered. Talk about organised! I woke up my other Bridesmaid, Tiyana and by 7.30am we were fresh as daisy's and applying makeup!

For my makeup I wore: MAC no.12 eyelashes, MAC Beige-ing shadestick, MAC e/s White Frost, MAC pigment Kitchmas, MAC e/s Nehru, MAC Zoomlash mascara. On my face I wore Lush Dream Cream, Benefit Playstix, MAC Belightful and that's it! Throughout the day I topped up my lips with various lipsticks and lipglosses!

My hair was done by Jenna Sheppard who is fantastic and has very reasonable prices.

Whilst we were having hair done and having breakfast I was cooooooooooooool as a cucumber. Until the florist came. We had Homelands in Northampton do our flowers and I can't say how disappointed I was with their service. The roses in my bouquet didn't look fresh and they took 10 flower arrangements to the venue, for my 11 tables. Errmmmm woops. I later heard that the delivery man smashed some on the way over so had to go back to the shop to pick up more. The centre pieces were meant to be tall glass vases of pink lillies but 80% of the lillies were still in bud and hadn't even opened up the next day. So basically, we had a load of green buds. Thanks Homelands, nice of you to do your job so well. Not. Grrr rant over!

So by that point I was getting pretty stressed and that's when the photographer (Geoff Smith- AMAZING) started snapping away, so we have some pretty tense photos at the start! ha.

By now it was time to put the dress on and get cracking with photo's around Dad's garden. It was so lovely putting the dress on because it felt real and wasn't like when you have a quick try on in the shop. It was so exciting.

We had about 50 minutes of photos round the lake and then it was time to get in the cars- arrghh!

Bridesmaids went first in a black Mercedes with all the ribbons on and suchlike and I went in a cream and black ye olde fashioned thing (I'm not a car person) with my Dad and chatted about all sorts on the 30 minutes drive there. We were a tad early and because the church is near the cemetery, we went for a little drive through so we could wave at my Mum and sort of honour her a bit. I bet there aren't too many brides who do a graveyard drivethrough eh!

And then we were there! We were pulling up at the church and my 2 Bridemaids and 2 Flowergirls looked beautiful :)
Walking down the aisle was by far, the best feeling I have ever had in all my life (even better than one I will tell you about VERY soon). I felt like fizzy happiness was rushing through every vein in my body and when Matt turned around and looked back I nearly cried. It was all so overwhelming.

Standing at the alter was surreal. All my friends and family were behind me and here I was, singing Amazing Grace, about to marry the man of my dreams (and shaking rather a lot!).

The service was perfect, with a few small glitches! One, I didn't realise Matt had been mic'd up by the videographer and whilst we were sitting on our special chair type things I whispered "Sausage Supriiiiseee!!" to him!! (Google Jean from Eastenders if you're confused). I don't really know why I said it, I just blurted it out whilst someone was doing a reading out of nerves (or mentallness) I think and thought only me and him would hear. But alas, that will now be on the video and I shall look like a crazy loon wife!

The second was when we were asked to kneel for prayers. Well kneeling is not a problem of course, but kneeling in 20lbs of dress and 18 layers of tulle netting is. What I had to do was bend, bend, bend, FLOP! I basically just threw myself to the ground and hoped for the best! Even the vicar laughed! Oops!

Before I knew it, we were married and walking out to the sound of clapping, cheering and church bells! We had toonnnnneess of photos taken on the green and we were off in the ye olde car to the venue! Yaaayy!!

The drive to the venue seemed to take about 3 hours but then from venue to hometime seemed to go in about 5 seconds. There were canapes, chats, more photos, shaking hands in the receiving line, 3 course meal, fantastic (and very moving speeches), cake cuttings, the first dance, dancing with chums and then it was goodbyes!

I would go into details but it all went in such a blur! It was perfect! I'm going to scatter a few photos through this post (probably won't correspond too well with the timings in the story but nae mind) that friends have taken and put on facebook as I am still waiting on our official ones.

If you are getting married or are just interested and have ANY question at all, please ask and I will answer in a fresh blog post :)

Hope you enjoyed my super long post! Next up- MY SECRET!
